Alfred Parkinson Ashley [also known as Alfred Ashley] was born on 2 July 1884 and was articled to Herbert Hodgson (1857-1927). He was Architect to the Agent of Harwood and Clayton Hall Estates in 1907, Great Harwood, Lancashire and later to Agent of Nottingham Estate of Earl Manvera, and to John German & Son, Land Agents and Surveyors, Midland Counties
