Battiscombe, Humphrey 1886 - 1950

Humphrey Battiscombe was born in  St Mary Cray, Kent, England on 8 March 1886. It is not known where or with whom he trained as an architect. By 1911 he was working as an architect's assistant and in 1920 was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA).

A design for a house by him was entered in The "Daily Mail" Ideal Houses Competition for Architects, 1927,

Battiscombe's address was given as Rowlands St Mary Cray, Kent in 1911; Beverley, Orpington, Kent. 1923 and 1927; 4 St. James Road. Tunbridge Wells, Kent in 1930 and 1935;  4 Coneydale, Welwyn Garden City; Hertfordshire in 1939; and 26 Salisbury Street, Skipton, Yorkshire in 1950.  He died in Skipton, Yorkshire on 6 January 1950
