Baxter, Roderick Hildegar 1871 - 1946

Roderick Hildegar Baxter was born in Uphall, West Lothian, Scotland on 25 June 1871 and was articled to John Wallace in Edinburgh from 1898 to 1891. He also attended Heriot Watt College in Edinburgh and the Architectural Association Schools in Edinburgh.  He worked as an assistant to Henry Weatherill in Stockton-on-Tees from 1891 to 1893, and to Robert Edward of Cross of Smith & Cross in Rochdale, Lancashire from 1893 to 1898 when he commenced independent practice in Rochdale.  He was in partnership with Cross from 1898.  The partnership was dissolved in 1913. He died in Rochdale on 26 September 1946.
