Walter Patrick Belk was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England 17 March 1872. He trained as an architect before joining the family silverware and silverplate company Roberts & Belk Ltd. of which he was both director and designer. He was elected to the Livery of the Company in 1929. He died in Sheffield on 19 August 1963.
