Benson, Hugh Cecil 1883 - 1915

Hugh Cecil Benson was born Kensington, Middlesex [now London], England on 3 July 1883 and studied at King's College, London and the Architectural Association Schools in  London.  He was articled to Ernest Newton (1856-1922). He also attended the Royal Academy Schools in London from 1905 to 1910.  He commenced independent practice as an architect in Hertford, Hertfordshire in 1907. He died in Hooge, Ypres, Belgium on 22 June 1915, whilst serving in the Army during World War One.
