Bewsey, John Charles Norman 1881 - 1940

John Charles Norman Bewsey [commonly known as John C. Bewsey] was born in Horsington, Somerset, England in 1881, and trained in he workshop of the stained glass manufacturer Kempe Studios in London. He was subsequently active as a stained glass designer and architect. Between 1904 and 1909 he was was associated with the stained glass firm Shrigley & Hunt, and following World War One frequently worked on projects with the architect Robert Lorimer  Bewsey had his own studio in London during the 1920s and 1930s.

From 1906 to 1922 he exhibited a the Royal Academy in London, and the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.  He died in Leeds, Yorkshire on 3 February 1940.
