Fernand Billerey

Fernand André Louis Billerey [commonly known as Fernand Billerey] was born in Louviers, Eure, Normandy, France on 10 November 1878 and trained as an architect at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He subsequently worked as an architect first in France and later in England. From 1906 to 1924 he was in partnership with Detmar Jellings Blow as Detmar Blow & Fernand Billerey [Blow & Billerey]. 

Billerey died in London on 16 November 1951. His address at the time of his death was 93 Eaton Place London.

In addition to his work in partnership with Detmar Blow, Billerey designed 46 Grosvenor Street, London for Sir Edgar Speyer, 1910-12; 10 Smith Square, London in 1910-12; 44 Park Street, London in 1910-12; and 9 Halkin Street, London in 1910-12.  He also remodelled 10 Carlton House Terrace, London in 1910-11, and converted 75 South Audley Street, London into the Egyptian Embassy in 1926-27. In 1933 he produced a masterplan for the unified elevational treatment of Grosvenor Square in London. Only the North range was built and in stages after World War Two. He also designed the Drawing Room in Goldsmiths Hall, City of London for the Festival of Britain in 1951.
