Bird, Eric Leslie 1894 - 1965

Eric Leslie Bird was born in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, England on 10 June 1894 and was the son of the architect William Frederick Bird (1865-1919). He studied at the Architectural Association Schools in London and subsequently practised as an architect in London. During the late 1920s and early 1930s he was a partner with Henry Gordon Atkin-Berry (1894-1942 in the architectural firm Bird & Atkin-Berry which had an office at 45 Bloomsbury Square, London. Bird was also Editor of the Royal Institute of British Architects Journal from 1946 to 1956.

Bird was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1922. His address was given as 84, Bedford Square, London in 1923; 22 Great Russell Street, London in 1924; 11, Great Russell Street, London in 1926; 45 Bloomsbury Square, London in 1930; Haddenham Hall, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire in 1939; and Rose Tile, Bisham Road, Marlow, Buckinghamshire in 1965. He died at the railway station, Marlow, Buckinghamshire on 22 November 1965
