Body, Arthur 1866 - 1933

Arthur Body was born in St Budeaux, Plymouth,Devon, England in 1866 and was articled to James Hine (1829?-1914) of Hine and Odgers in Plymouth, Devon from 1885 to 1888. He then worked as an assistant to Ernest Flint (?-1923) and other architects in London. He qualified as an architect in 1889 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1890.  He commenced independent practice as an architect in Plymouth in 1891 and was employed as Rating Surveyor to the National Conference of Assessment Committees and to a number of Rating Authorities, and was a Valuer to the Cornwall and Plymouth Compensation Authorities. He died in Plymouth, Devon on 8 February 1933.
