Botterill, Austin Barugh 1877 - 1963

Austin Barugh Botterill was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England in 1877 and was articled to Henry Crisp (1825-1896) and George Oatley (1863-1950) of Crisp & Oatley in Bristol from 1895 to 1899. He then worked as an assistant to Oatley in Edinburgh in 1899-1900; to Alfred William Stephens Cross (1858-1932) in 1901-02; to the L.C.C. Architect's Department in 1902-03; and to Oatley and George Churchus Lawrence (1872-1938) of Oatley & Lawrence in Bristol from 1903 to 1906. Botterill qualified as an architect in 1901 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1902. He died in Tunbridge Wells, Kent on 25 December 1963.
