Thomas Henry Bowell was born in Bristol, Gloucestershire in 1883 [or 1882 - sources differ] and was articled to James Tait (1834?-1915). He also attended Leicester School of Art. He commenced independent practice in Leicester in 1906 [or 1907 - sources differ]. He also practised in Norwich, Norfolk. He was a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) and was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925. He died in Leicester, Leicestershire on 24 June 1936
