Bowles, Francis Wildman Selwode 1863 - 1940

Francis Wildman Selwode Bowles was born in Milton, Berkshire, England ion 29 January 1863. His father, Richard Francis Bowles (c.1828-1916) was described as a "gentleman landowner".

In the 1901 and 1911 England Census he gave Architect as his occupation, however, nothing is known about his training. A photograph of Trusley Manor, a large country house near Derby in Derbyshire designed by F. Bowles [assumed to be Francis Wildman Selwode Bowles] is illustrated in 'The Studio' July 1906 p.128.

Bowles' address was given as 65 St. George's Road, Hanover Square, London in 1871 and 1901; 38 Belgrave Road, London in 1911; and 14 Barton Court, Barton Lane, Abingdon, Berkshire in 1939 and 1940.  He died in Abingdon, Berkshire on 7 September 1940.
