Branson, Norman Richard 1910 - 1993

Norman Richard Branson was born in King's Norton, Worcestershire, England on 15 July 1910 and worked as an architect and actor in Britain from the 1940s to the 1970s.  Noithing is known about his training as an architects.

Architectural projects by Branson included the conversion of two offices in Shell-Mex House in London into a private cinema for the company (1954). He designed the sets for a production of Michael Kelly’s play Gilgamesh (1956).  He also converted New Big School at Rugby School (originally designed by architect William Butterfield in 1885) into the Rugby School Theatre (1974).  Branson was an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA). He died in Taunton, Somerset on 22 June 1993
