Brooks, Samuel H. 1838 - ?

Samuel Brooks was born in Camberwell, Surrey [now London], England in 1838.  He qualified as an architect in the late 1860s and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1868. It is not known where or with whom he trained.

His address was given as The Folly House, Catherine Lane, St. Albans, Hertfordshire in 1861; and 5 St. King Henry's Road. Hampstead, Middlesex [now London] in 1871 and 1881.   He was active as an architect until at least 1910.

Brooks was the author of Rudimentary Treatise on the Erection of Dwelling-houses; or, The Builder's Comprehensive Drector, Explained (1860), which ran to several editions.
