Browning, Harry Le Cronier 1881 - 1955

Harry Le Cronier Browning was born in London, England on 22 December 1881. He was articled to Robert Alexander Briggs (1858-1916) from 1901 to 1904 and then worked as an assistant to Charles Fitzroy Doll (1851-1929) from 1904 to 1910.   In 1910 he formed a partnership with Briggs as Briggs & Browning. A watercolour drawing (with floor plans) of a house at Pinner, designed by Briggs & Browning is illistrated in 'The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art' 1912 (p.19), and a drawing of a house at Furze Hill, Burgh Heath, Surrey, designed by Briggs & Browning is illustrated in 'The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art' 1914 (p.13).  The partnership with Briggs was dissolved in 1913.

Browning was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1912.   He was active as an architect until at least 1924 when his address was given as Constant Spring, Lumley, Emsworth, Hampshire. By 1939 Browning had retired from the profession and his address was given as Constant Spring, Lumley, Southbourne, Chichester, Sussex. He died in Havant, Hampshire on 4 July 1955.
