Bruckman, William (Willem) Leendert 1866 - 1928

Willem Leendert Bruckman [also known as William Leendert Bruckman; Willem Leonardus Bruckmann; William L. Bruckman; and Willem Leonard Bruckman; and as William Leonard Bruckman] was born in The Hague, The Netherlands on 11 March 1866, and studied architecture and painting at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. In 1897 he moved to England where he worked as a painter and illustrator. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, and the Pastel Society in London; the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool; the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol; and at the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.

He lived in London and later in Great Bardfield, Essex. He died in Laren, The Netherlands on 28 1928.
