Buckley, Denis Joseph 1872 - 1953

Denis Joseph Buckley was born in Cork, Ireland on 11 February 1872 and was articled to Kearns, Deane, Roche, an engineering firm in Cork.  He also attended Cork University, the Municipal School of Art in Cork, Manchester Technical School and the Royal College of Science and Art, South Kensington, London, where, in 1892, he was awarded an Art Master's Certificate.  

Buckley commenced independent practice as an architect in Cork in 1897 and was appointed Surveyor to Mallow Urban Council and Fermoy Urban Council.  He was elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland (MRIAI) in 1905 and was still listed as a member in 1950. He lived in Cork until the 1940s and then in Corbally, Limerick until at least 1950. He died in London, England on 25 December 1953.
