Bush, Frederick Thwaites 1887 - 1985

Frederick Thwaites Bush was born in Croydon, Surrey, England* on 8 April 1887. He was articled to Ralton Gardner Hammond (1868-1951) from 1903 to 1905 and remained with him as an improver for a further year and as Clerk of Works until 1908. He then worked as an assistant to Claude Waterlow Ferrier (1878-1935) in 1908-09. He also attended the Architectural Association Schools in London.  He qualified as an architect in 1n 1908 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1909.

Bush subsequently practised as an architect in London. He worked at H.M. Office of Works and was Assistant Architect and Surveyor, New Scotland Yard, a post he held until at least 1939.  He died in Greenwich, London on 15 February 1985

* This is the place of birth given in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 England and Wales Census. Some sources give it as Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
