Carter, Charles Frederick 1889 - 1958

Charles Frederick Carter was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England on 9 December 1889 and was articled to Henry Allen Prothero (1848-1906).  He subsequently practised as an architect in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and in Winchester, Hampshire.  In  the 1920s and 1930s he was in partnership with Leonard William Barnard (1870-1951) as L. W. Barnard and C. F. Carter.

Carter was a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) and was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925.  His  address was given as 2 Gilmor Cottages, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1891; 28 St. Philip Street, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1901 and 1911; 45, Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, and 81, Promenade, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1923 and 1930; and 16 Keble Street, Winchester Hampshire and 33 Southgate Street, Winchester, Hampshire in 1939.  He died in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset on 15 March 1958
