Guy Danston Channon was born in Malton, Yorkshire, England on 2 July 1889 and was the son of the architect Charles Henry Channon (1854-1926) with whom he may have received his training as an an architect.) By the early 1920s he was in partnership with his father as Channon & Son. Following the death of his father he practised independently. Throughout his career he lived and worked in Malton, Yorkshire.
A design for a house by him was submitted in The "Daily Mail" Ideal Houses Competition for Architects in 1927.
He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1925. His address was given as Red Walls, Castle Howard Road, Malton, Yorkshire in 1939. He died in Malton, Yorkshire on 9 February 1963. His address at the time of his death was given as Flat 1, Middlecave Lodge, Moddlecave Road, Malton, Yorkshire
