Christopher Chart was born in Mitcham, Surrey, England on 5 January 1874 and was articled to his father, Robert Masters Chart (1850-1942) in Mitcham, Surrey. He commenced practice as an independent architect in Mitcham in 1896 and was in partnership with his father and a little later with his younger brother, Stephen Chart (1879-1964). The Charts were also also in partnership with Charles Harold Reading as Chart, Sons & Reading in Mitcham in the early years of the years of the twentieth century. Christopher Chart was at one time the Croydon Surveyor. He was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925. He died in Croydon, Surrey in 1949.
