Sidney Phillips Dales [also known as S. Phillips Dales; and as Sidney P. Dales] was born in Louth, Lincolnshire, England on 15 September 1883 and was articled to W. Mortimer and Son of. Lincoln and Romford. He also attended schools of art and science in Louth and Lincoln, and at the L.C.C. Central School of Arts and Crafts in London.
He subsequently practised as an architect in London In 1923. He designed the interior of the Red Triangle Club, National Council of Y.M.C.A.'s Incorporated centre for officers in Eaton Square, London. He was elected a Fellow of the Society of Architects (F.S,Arc.) and was admitted a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925.
Dales' address was given as 63, High Holborn, London; and Manor Gardens, Romford, Essex in 1923 and 1939; and Three Chimneys, Biddenden, Kent in 1935 and 1939. He died on 7 October 1971. His address at the time of his death was 75 Westmoreland Avenue, Squirrels Heath, Hornchurch, Essex
