Percy Boothroyd Dannatt [also known as Percy B. Dannatt] was born in Greenwich, Kent [now London], England on 21 September 1879. After attending Regent Street Polytechnic in London in 1896, he was articled to Alfred Roberts (1865-1936) in Greenwich from 1897 to 1900 and for a period remained with him as his assistant. He also attended classes at the Architectural Association Schools in London.
Dannatt qualified as an architect in 1903 and subsequently practised in London
Dannatt was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1903 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925. He was awarded the Driver Prize by the Surveyors' Institution.
His address was given as 5 The Circus, Greenwich in 1881; Lyndale, Westcombe Park Road, Blackheath, London in 1891 and 1911; 92, London Street, Greenwich in 1914; 47, Westcombe Park Road, Blackheath in 1923 and 1926; 18 Nelson Street, Greenwich in 1926 and 1939; and 6 Westcombe Park Road, Blackheath in 1939. He died in Greenwich in 1968. His nephew was the architect James Trevor Dannatt (1920-2021)

Dannatt was Surveyor to the Roan Schools Foundation and from 1926 to 1928 collaborated with Sir Bannister Flight Fletcher (1866-1953) in the design of the John Roan School, a Neo-Georgian style building at Maze Hill, Greenwich, Kent [now London]
