Davies, Daniel Morgan, 1873 - 1953

Daniel Morgan Davies was born in Deri, Glamorganshire, Wales on 27 July 1873 and was articled to Arthur Owen Evans (1863-1925) in Pontypridd, Wales. He also attended Cardiff Technical School. He commenced independent practice in Aberdare, Glamorganshire in 1900 and was in partnership with John Llewellin Smith (1873-1950) as J. Llewellyn Smith & Davies, which had offices in Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil, Glamoraganshire.  The partnership was dissolved in 1905.  Davies became a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) in 1888. He practised as an architect until at least the early 1920. He died in Glamoragan, Wales on 9 December 1953

Elementary Schools for Merthyr Tydvil Education Authority; Elementary School for Aberdare; Cottage Hospital, Rhymney; Workmen's Institute, Rhymney; Nonconformist Chapel, Resolven; rebuilding of market, Aberdare; hotel, Aberaman (the above whilst in partnership with J. Llewellin Smith). "Greenhill" Caerphilly; extensive additions to business premises at Caerphilly; additions to church, Deri; house at Ponyrhool; numerous workmen's houses at Caerphilly, Deri, Bedllnog, &c, &c.
