Sydney Everard Davies was born in Croydon, Surrey, England in July 1865 and was articled to John Edward Sears (1857-1941). He was for several years an improver with George Shaw, a contractor in Westminster. Davies commenced practice in London in 1895 and from 1900 was a partner in Robins A Co., architects and surveyors in London.
Davies was a elected a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) and was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1925. He died in Bournemouth, Dorset in December 1926

Has given expert advice, on value of buildings for Insurance, to most of tat largest Manchester goods houses in City of London; also on historic structures, such as All Souls' College, Oxford. Largely engaged by the Insurance companies to adjust their large building losses; remodelling and rebuilding of Crescent Works Soda Factory, for Messrs. Brunner Mond and Co., Ltd
