William Stanley Dean was born in Islington, Middlesex [now London] in 1879 and was articled to George Augustus Bligh Livesay (1867-1916). He then worked as an assistant to Harry E. Hawker and Victor Mitchell of Hawker & Mitchell in Bournemouth, Hampshire [now Dorset] for ten years. He commenced practice as an architect in Bournemouth in 1910. He was a Member of the Society of Architects (MSA) and died in Bournemouth Hampshire [now Dorset] on 24 January 1917.
