Dorman, Charles Henry 1872 - 1956

Charles Henry Dorman was born in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England on 27 October 1872 the son of the architect Charles Dorman (1837–1901). He was articled to Walter Talbot Brown (1852-1931) and James William Fisher (1871-1936) of Brown & Fisher in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire in 1890. After completion of his articles he joined his father in partnership as Charles Dorman & Son (also known as Chas. Dorman & Son).  Following his father's death in 1901 he continued the practice retaining the original title of the firm.

Charles Henry Dorman qualified as an architect in 1896 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1897.  His address was given as 31 Alfred Street, Northampton in 1881; 53, Abington Street, Northampton in 1892 and 1939; and 232 Abington Avenue, Northampton in 1911 and 1956.  He died in Northampton on 15 February 1956
