George Morley Eaton was born in Derby, Derbyshire, England on 4 October 1889, the son of the architect Arthur Eaton (1857-1924). He was articled to Bromley & Watkins, Nottingham and studied at Nottingham University and the Architectural Association in London. He subsequently practised as an architect in Derby and was also employed as Surveyor to the National Deposit Friendly Society, Leek and Moorlands Building Society, Hearts of Oak Benefit Society, and the Liverage Charity.
In the early 1920s he joined his father in partnership as Arthur Eaton & Son in Derby and, following his father's death in 1924 continued the practice, retaining the original title of the firm.
He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1920, and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1926. He was also a member of the Nottingham and Derby Architectural Society and its President in the late 1920s and early 1930s.
His address was given as 28, Green Lane, Derby in 1923 and 1926; 6 The Strand, Derby in 1930 and 1939; and The Green, Brailsford, Derbyshire in 1940. He died in Derby on 2 April 1940
