Frederick Charles Eden was born in Hove, Sussex, England on 6 March 1864. After studying at Keble College, Oxford, he was articled to George Frederick Bodley (1827-1897) and Thomas Garner (1839-1906) of Bodley & Garner. He was subsequently active as an architect in London from the 1890s onwards.
In addition to his work, Eden also designed stained glass and church fittings and in 1910 established a studio in Red Lion Square, London. He designed numerous stained glass windows for churches throughout England and Wales.
He was elected a member of the Art Workers Guild in 1915 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1922. He was also a Fellow of the British Society of Master Glass Painters and a member of the Committee of Honorary Consulting Architects to the Church Building Society. He died in Ramsbury, Wiltshire on 15 July 1944.
