Roderick Charles Fisher was born in Forest Row, Sussex, England on 21 September 1902 and was the son of the architect Edmund Montague Prinsep Fisher (1872-1918). He qualified as an architect in the early 1930s and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1931. However, it is not known where or with whom he trained. Photographs of branches of Barclays Bank in Sturminster, Dorset and Romsey, Hampshire designed by Fisher are illustrated in The Design & Industries Association Year-Book 1929-30. Fisher's address was given as Abbotsholme School, Rocester, Staffordshire in 1932; and 43 Myddleton Square, London in 1939; and Pencaenewydd, Golan, Garndolbenmaen, Gwynedd, Wales in 1973. He died in Pwllheli, Caernarvonshire, Wales on 22 November 1973
