Fowler, Henry Tutty 1874 - 1934

Henry Tutty Fowler was born in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England in 1874 and studied at Victoria University of Manchester. He was articled to John Flavel Curwen (1860-1932) in Kendal from 1892 to 1895. He then worked as an assistant to Frederick William Waller (1846-1933) in 1895-96; to James Caldwel Prestwich (1853-1940) in 1896; and to W. A. Fox from 1897 to 1901. In 1901 he commenced independent practice as an architect in Barrow-in-Furness.

Fowler qualified as an architect in 1903 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1904.  He retired in 1931 and died in Lancaster, Lancashire on 2 April 1934
