Ralph P.H. Gillett was born in Hendon, Middlesex [now London], England in 1920 and worked as an architect and exhibition designer in Britain from the 1940s. A showroom designed by Gillett in Manchester is illustrated in 'Art and Industry' December 1952 (p.209).
Gillett was an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) and a Fellow of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers (FSIAD). He lived in Banstead, Surrey, England until 1959 when he moved to West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. From there he moved to Cobble Hill, British Columbia, where he lived until at least 1997.
