Douglas Francis William Grant-Collie [also known as Douglas F. Collie] was born in Islington, London, England on 5 May 1900. Nothing is known about his training or early career as an architect. In the mid-1930s he was in partnership with John Cruikshank Rose (1907-1971). A house in Highgate, London designed by Cruikshank and Grant-Collie is discussed in Small Houses £500-£2500, edited by H. Myles Wright (1937 p. 65).
In the 1939 England and Wales Register his name was given as Douglas F. Collie and his address as Crayford, Pound Hill, Cuckfield, Sussex, England. He died in Crawley, West Sussex in 1983
