Haynes, Thomas Charles 1916 - 1940

Thomas Charles Haynes [also known as T.C. Haynes] was born in 1916 and studied at the School of Architecture, Liverpool University and graduated with a Dip. Arch. in the late 1930s. He subsequently worked as an architect and exhibition stand designer.  A stand designed by Haynes for the Gas, Light & Coke Co. for the British Industries Fair in London in 1937 is illustrated in 'Art and Industry' April 1937 (p.162).  

Haynes also designed the the British Gas Federation exhibit 'Industrial Use of Gas' at the Engineering and Marine Exhibition at Olympia, London, in 1937, a brief report of which is included in 'Art and Industry' November 1937 (p.198).

Haynes died on 27 May 1940 whilst serving in the British Army during World War Two and is buried in the Comines (Komen) Communal Cemetery in Belgium.
