John Heald was born on 2 May 1907 and worked as an architect in the 1930s and 1940s. A photograph of Woolaway houses at Woodville Estate in Barnstaple, Devon, designed by Heald and erected by the Ministry of Works is illustrated in 'Decorative Art' 1943-48 (p.14).
Heald was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1936. His address was given as "Northcott", Mitchley Avenue, Purley, Surrey in 1936. He died on 21 October 1989. At the time of his death his address was given as 48 Bridge Court, Springfield Meadows, Surrey.
