S A Heaps

Stanley Arthur Heaps was born in 1880. He was articled to Latham Augustus Withall from 1896 to 1899 and remained with him as his assistant until 1901. He also attended classes at the Architectural Association Schools in London. He worked an assistant in the Admiralty Works Department in Greenwich from 1901 to 1903, and to Leslie William Green (1875-1908) from 1903 to 1907.  In 1907 he was appointed Architect to London Underground Electric Railway and was subsequently Architect to the London Passenger Transport Board, a post he held for several years.

Heaps was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910 and later a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA). His address was given as 59 Houston Road, Forrest Hill, London in 1910; 17 Palmer Street, Westminster, London in 1914 and 1923; and 55 The Broadway, London in 1926. He died on 25 May 1962
