Heathcote, Ernest Grigg 1877 - 1947

Ernest Grigg Heathcote

Ernest Grigg Heathcote was born in Sale, Cheshire, England on 8 October 1877. He was articled to his father, Charles Henry Heathcote (1850-1938) in Machester and remained with him as his assistant.

He commenced independent practice as an architect in Manchester in 1901 and was a partner, with his father and his brothers, Charles Harold Heathcote (1876-1960) and Edgar Horace Heathcote (1882-1929), in the architectural practice Charles Heathcote & Sons. The practice was initially based in Manchester, England, but had relocated to London by 1910.  

Ernest Grigg Heathcote was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1911 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1917. He was Vice-President of the RIBA in 1922-23

His address was given as 64 Cross Street, Manchester in 1910; 110 Cannon Street, London in 1910 and 1914; 37 Princes Street, Manchester and 38 Westminster Mansions, London in 1914; 38, Parliament Street, London in 1923 and 1926; and Mansfield Chambers, St. Anne's Square, Manchester, and 19 Iddesleigh House, Caxton Street, Westminster, London in 1930 and 1932.  He died in Budleigh Salterton, Devon, England on 19 November 1947
