Heaven, Frank Henry 1885 - 1960

Frank Henry Heaven was born in Bridgend, Glamorganshire, Wales on 11 September 1885. He was articled to Jesse Hurley from 1900 to 1904 and remained as his assistant until 1909. He also attended the Royal College of Art in London and Bournemouth Technical College.

He worked as an assistant to J. Burdett Ward in 1909 and to P. J. Thomas from 1909.  Heaven qualified as an architect in 1910 and commenced practice in Aberkenfig, Bridgend, Glamorganshire, Wales that year.

Heaven was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1910.  He was a Grissell Gold Medallist in 1920 and an Alfred Bossom Silver Medallist in 1925.  By 1936 he had been appointed Architect to the Education Committee in Walthamsow, London.  Heaven was the inventor of a complete concrete cottage and exhibited at the Franco-British Exhibition London in 1908. He died on 26 September 1960.  His death was registered in London. At the time of his death he was living at 49 Chelmsford Road, South Woodford, Essex
