Arthur Ernest Heazell was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England on 21 November 1863. He was articled to his father, William Arthur Heazell (1831-1917) in Nottingham, England from 1879 to 1884, and remained with him as his assistant from 1885 to 1888. During this period he also attended University College Nottingham School of Art. In 1888 he joined his father in partnership as Heazell & Son, The firm became Heazell & Sons in 1901 when his brother, Edward Henry Heazell (1867-1948) was made a partner.
Arthur Ernest Heazell was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1905. He died in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, 17 August 1941
