John Edward Henderson was born in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland in 1878 and worked as an assistant to James Neale (1850?-1909) from 1897 to 1905, and to Flint Browne (1842-1921) from 1906 to 1908. He also attended classes at the Architectural Association Schools in London. He commenced practice in Pinner, Middlesex [now London] in 1908. He was also appointed Architect to the West End Park Estate that year. He was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1910. He died in Greenwich, London on 17 October 1947.
