Hinde, Edward Percy 1864 - 1952

Edward Percy Hinde was born in Liverpool, England on 14 January 1864.  was articled to Charles Aldridge (?-1895) in 1879 and on completing his articles remained with him as his assistant He also attended University College, Liverpool.  He qualified as an architect in 1888 and worked as an assistant James William Beaumont (1848-1931) in Manchester from 1889 to 1894. when he commenced independent practice in Liverpool.

In 1905 Hinde collaborated with the architects Deacon & Horsburgh in a competition to design Sedgefield School in Durham. Their designs are illustrated in British Competitions in Architecture vol. 1, no. 9, September 1906 pp. 18, 19.

Hinde was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1888 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1916.  He was also a member of the Liverpool Architectural Society and its President from 1915 to 1919.  He died in Birkenhead, Cheshire on 1 December 1952
