Holder, Frederick William 1909 - 1981

Frederick William Holder [also known as F.W. Holder] was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 26 February 1909.  He subsequently moved to England and studied architecture at University College, London. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1932 and commenced independent practice in London

A photograph of Dudley cottages in Pirbright, Surrey, designed by Holder, and built by the Ministry of Works Mobile Labour Force, for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries is illustrated in 'Decorative Art' 1943-48 (p.15).

Holder also designed a Post Office building at Crouch Hill in London in c.1953.  His address was given as 42 Gwalier House, Chase Road, Southgate, London in 1939;  6 Grosvenor Gardens Southgate, London in 1949; 28 Meadway, London in 1958 and 1961; and 43 Middle Bourne Lane Farnham, Surrey in 1981.   He died in Farnham, Surrey on 14 July 1981
