Honnor, Timothy 1871 - 1966

Timothy Honnor was born in Great Missenden, Berkshire, England on 16 May 1871  He was articled to Herbert Duncan Appleton [also known as Herbert Duncan Searles-Wood] (1853-1936) from 1888 to 1891; and an improver with Edward William Mountfield (1855-1908) in 1893, remaining with him as an assistant. He then worked for London Council Council.

Honnor qualified as an architect in 1897 and in 1899 established an independent practice in London. A weekend cottage at Great Missenden and a cottage in Buckinghamshire designed by Honnor are featured in 'The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art' 1907 (p.26).

He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1898 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1912.  Honnor exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1903 and 1906.  He had various address in London between the 1880s and the early 1920s. In 1926 his address was given as Woodspeen Lodge, West Speen, Newbury, Berkshire; and Burghley, West Speen, Newbury, Berkshire in 1939. He died in Newbury, Berkshire in 1966.
