Houchin, Harold Rogers 1877 - 1949

Harold Rogers Houchin was born in Felsted, Essex, England on 4 June 1877 and was articled to Frank Edward Smee (1865-1942) in London. He also attended the Royal Academy Schools, the Architectural Association and Regent Street Polytechnlc in London.  He commenced independent practice in London in 1902 and by 1914 was in partnership with Smee as Smee & Houchin. The partnership was dissolved in 1930. Houchlin then practised alone. He was admitted a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1925.  He died in Braintree, Essex on 16 August 1949.
