Huddart, Arthur 1865 - 1951

Arthur Huddart was born in Windermere, Westmorland [now Cumbria], England in May 1865 and was articled to Thomas Lewis Banks (1842-1920) in Whitehaven, Cumberland [now Cumbria], and to Charles Harrison Townsend (1851-1928) in London. He also attended Manchester Municipal School of Art, the Architectural Association in London and South Kensington School of Art in London from 1883 to 1886.  

Huddart commenced practice as an independent architect in Whitehaven, Cumberland in c.1892.  All his work as an architect was in the north west of England, mainly in Eskdale, where he lived for several years.  

He was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA) in 1911 and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1932

The address of Huddart's office was given as 9, Lowther Street, Whitehaven, Cumberland in 1914 and 1933.  He died in Millom, Cumberland in June 1951.
