Hudson, Alfred Arthur 1852 - 1930

Alfred Arthur Hudson was born in Portsea Hampshire England in 1852 and was articled to Ewan Christian (1814-1895) in London. He also gained practical experience working in the building and engineering trades. He commenced independent practice as an architect in 1874, and worked in profession for about ten years before training for the law.

In the 1891 England Census he gave his profession as barrister and solicitor, nevertheless, he evidently maintained an interest in architecture as he is listed in the three editions of Who's Who in Architecture - 1914, 1923 and 1926, although his entry wasn't revised after the 1914 edition.  His address was given as 5 Paper Buildings, Temple, London in 1914 and 1930.  He died in Vevey, Switzerland on 21 August 1930
