Ibberson, Herbert George 1866 - 1935

Herbert George Ibberson was born in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England, on 23 February 1866 and was articled to George William Webb (1853-1936) and Cyril B. Tubbs in Reading, Berkshire in 1882 for three years. He then worked as an assistant to Ernest Milborne Swinnerton Pilkington.  In 1887-88, he was an improver with John Belcher (1841-1913). and was employed as an assistant to Joghn Dando Sedding (1838-1891) in 1888.  He also studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London.  

In 1889 he qualified as an architect and later that year was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1889, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA) in 1900.

Ibberson commenced independent practice as an architect in Hunstanton, Norfolk in 1890. and in London in 1892.  

His address was Byron Cottage, John Street, Hampstead, London in 1889; 5 Adelaide Place, London in 1892; 28 Martin's Lane, London in 1900 and 1911; The Gables in Hunstanton, Norfolk in 1911 and 1914; 9 Old Square, Lincoln's Inn, London in 1914 and 1934; and Fring House, Seaton, Devon in 1930 and 1934.  He died in Devon on 16 June 1935.
