Ingman, Arthur Morrison 1878 - 1955

Arthur Morrison Ingman was born in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland on 12 October 1878 and was articled to Lewis Sheppard & Son in Worcester, Worcestershire from 1897 to 1900.  He then worked as an assistant to Henry Henry Rowe & Son in 1900-01; Alfred Frederick Aldridge Trehearne (1874-1962) of Thorne & Trehearne in London in 1901-02; and to Edmund Fisher from 1902 to 1908.    In 1908 he set up his own independent architectural practice in Barnet, Hertfordshire. and in 1912 was elected a Licentiate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (LRIBA).  By 1914 he had moved to Wales and was Assistant Borough Architect for Swansea.  By 1924 he was living in Hornsey, Middlesex.  He later moved to Battle in East Sussex.  He died on 29 January 1955. At the time of his death his address was given as 62 Sackville Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.
