Alexander George Jenson [also known as Alec G. Jenson] was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England on 14 September 1899. He was articled to Nicol & Nicol in Birmingham and attended Liverpool University School of Architecture where he was awarded a First Class Certificate for Architectural Design and Civic Design and Town Planning. He qualified as an architect in the early 1920s and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1922. He was also a member of the Birmingham Architectural Association and its Hon. Secretary in the 1920s.
Jenson practised as an architect in Birmingham. A photograph and plans of a shop front designed by him for Bywaters in Birmingham are illustrated in Modern Architectural Details. A Portfolio of Photographs and Working Drawings (London: The Architectural Press, 1928 plates 65-66).
During the late 1930s he was associated with the Birmingham architectural firm Martin & Martin & W.H. Ward.
He was the author of Birmingham Transport: a History of Public Transport in the Birmingham Area (Birmingham: Birmingham transport Historical Group, 1978).
Jenson's address was given as 225 Great Colmore Street, Birmingham in 1911; 20, Carpenter Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham in 1923 and 1926; 2 Newbold Terrace. Leamington Spa, Warwickshire in 1930; 23 Newbold Terrace. Leamington Spa, Warwickshire in 1930; and 106 Colmore Row, Birmingham in 1935 and 1936; and "The White House", 504 Streetsbook Road, Solihull, Warwickshire in 1939.
Jenson died on 24 July 1982. His death was registered in Kensington & Chelsea, London.
