Walter Monckton Keesey was born in Croydon, Surrey, England on 16 June 1887 and studied at the Royal College of Art in London, from where he graduated in 1911. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1922 and was art master at the Architectural Association in London from 1913 to 1925 (including a break for war service).
In addition to his work as an architect was also a painter, printmaker, banknote and exhibition designer and commercial artist and was elected an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers in 1914. He designed press advertisements for Kerner-Greenwood & Co. Ltd. 'Pudlo' Brand Cement Waterproofer, and publicity material for the London General Omnibus Company Ltd. Keesey died on 4 December 1970.
